ART SCOPE and SEQUENCE
This 2004 edition of the framework is based on the Visual and Performing Arts Content Standards adopted in January 2001. It incorporates the content standards for dance, music, theater, and the visual arts and defines the five strands of an arts program: artistic perception; creative expression; historical and cultural context; aesthetic valuing; and connections, relationships, and applications.
The Kennedy Center ArtsEdge site has information on the National Standards for Arts Education.
Developed by the Consortium of National Arts Education Associations (under the guidance of the National Committee for Standards in the Arts), the National Standards for Arts Education is a document which outlines basic arts learning outcomes integral to the comprehensive K-12 education of every American student.
