The 12th Annual Rooftop Auction, the school's biggest fundraiser and the best party

of the year, is scheduled for Saturday, March 12 at 5 pm at the Hall of Flowers at Golden Gate Park.

Rooftop's dedicated art parents, working with our students, have created many of the most inspired

items available at the Auction — the beautiful live auction class projects.

Quilts, mosaics, mirrors, diningware, specially decorated furniture,

and framed art have inspired many a bidding frenzy.


This year's classroom Live Auction projects promise to add beauty to an an exciting evening.

2004 Live Auction Class Projects

Cruz – K "A Child's Garden of Verse"
The Rooftop Garden was the inspiration for this art piece made of baker's dough, handmade paper, mosaic tiles and poetry.


Gould – K "There I Am" Quilt
Each child designed a pattern block and a self-portrait block with thier names in this vibrant Amish-inspired quilt.

Moore – K "The Faces of K-3" Quilt
Self-portraits by this talented group of K's were made into this whimsical quilt.

Lane – 1st Grade "Here's Looking At You, Kid" Mirror
This distinctive copper framed mirror contains 20 enchanting self-portraits.

Vaughn – 1st Grade "What I like About Me"
A charming oil pastel with watercolor collage of Ms. Vaughn's first graders' faces, hands and poetry all about themselves.

Zidek – 1st Grade "Sunflowers on a Red Table"
Inspired by Van Gough, Ms. Zideks' 2st graders created this sunny still-life framed piece featuring each student's sunflower.

Beaulieu – 2nd Grade "Family Tree" Fountain
The children of Ms. Beaulieu's class crafted their concepts of family in the handmade ceramic tiles and leaves that adorn this eye-catching mosaic fountain

Callaway – 2nd Grade "Spring on the Vine" Fireplace Screen
This ceramic picture recreates Matisse’s painting, The Purple Robe, with tiles carefully hFanciful dragonflies and butterflies alight on the vine on this custom made fireplace screen.

Worrell – 2nd Grade "Painted Glass Tile Birdbath"
The children painted the underside of clear glass tiles which were applied to the bowl and base of a birdbath. The overall effect is a stunning array of colors accented by ceramic tiles.

Beesley – 3rd Grade "The Sound of My Name"
This mixed-media art piece is a visual symphony inspired by the sounds of each of Ms. Beesley's students speaking their name.

Pringle – 3rd Grade "Favorite City Jaunts"
This framed wall hanging features beautiful decoupage of children's art depicting San Francisco surrounded by delightful handmade ceramic self-portrait tiles.

Toupin – 3rd Grade "Victorian Fantasy Screens"
This striking pair of 3 paneled purple screens contains 30 intricately delated and color enhanced Victorian houses created by Ms. Toupin’s 3rd graders.

Whitcomb– 4th Grade "The Pirates of B-203"
The talented students in Ms. Whitcomb's class created pirate-inspired drawings which they transferred onto metal. Their shimmering creations were affixed onto a treasure chest and mirror.

Woo– 4th Grade "Shangri-La Dreams"
The 4th graders of Ms. Woo's class composed this vibrant and beautiful wall-hanging depicting their dreams of Shangri-La.

Henry– 5th Grade "Joyful Water Fountain"
Ms. Henry created the leaf sculpture which is the pinnacle for this obelisk-shaped fountain decorated with student mosaic and fun ceramic water catchers.

Mattson– 5th Grade "Only in San Francisco" Quilt
This richly patterned quilt is decorated with pen and ink drawings of San Francisco landmarks drawn by Mr. Mattson’s class.

6th Grade "Our Beloved City"
Ms. Rajna's 6th graders painted tiles reflecting their favorite places in San Francisco. The tiles were inlaid on the top of a 36" wrought iron table.

6th Grade "Jewel of India"
This treasure is a chest of drawers decoupaged with images, motifs and designs inspired by India, a subject of the Ms. Zapata's students' study.

7th Grade "I Have a Dream"
This stunning, dramatic hinged plaque with decoupaged artwork was done by 7th graders in response to Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous, "I Have a Dream" speech.

8th Grade "Exotic Landscape" and "Country Dog Gentlemen"
The talented 8th graders recreated Henri Rousseau's "Exotic Landscape" amd Roy de Forest's "Country Dog Gentlemen" using oil pastels.
